This year, hoppers are spending more time shopping online, and are opting for both home delivery and curbside pickup, explains Brie Reynolds, Career Development Manager and Coach at FlexJobs! For many businesses, the need for remote workers has increased to keep up with this online demand.
“Particularly right now, as people are still reeling from the negative impact COVID-19 has had on personal finances, seasonal jobs are an attractive option not only to help alleviate the pressure of the cash-strapped holiday season, but also help workers get back on their feet and potentially transition from seasonal work to full-time employment,” says Sara Sutton, Founder and CEO of FlexJobs. “The good news for job seekers is that many factors are increasing the demand for seasonal workers, as well as driving up their wages in many cases.”

How To Land The Remote Seasonal Job Of Your Dreams
The earlier you start looking, the better. While the holidays are still a couple months away, hiring for seasonal jobs is happening now. It will continue through November, but if you start early, you have a better chance of landing a seasonal job you’re really interested in, Reynolds says.
Also, make sure to highlight any previous remote work experience on your resume or application materials. “Even if it was only occasional remote work, or remote education, or if it was unpaid volunteer work you did from home, it still counts,” Reynolds says. “It’s really important to gear your resume specifically towards remote work when you’re applying for remote jobs, rather than using the same resume you’d use for an in-office job.”
