Editorial Integrity

HerMoney is a new digital media company focused on improving the relationships women have with money. Our mission is to level the playing field for financial security, confidence and power with content that is welcoming, thought-provoking, bold, unbiased and always smart. We deliver unbiased, curated information women need to manage our money so we can focus on our lives.  To that end, our credibility and accuracy is essential to our success, brand and core values.

We insist on the highest standards of integrity and ethical behavior when we gather and deliver news and advice for our readers. Our editors and reporters, who have come from the top financial and news organizations in the country, carefully choose our sources then aim to present the information in a way that is clear, understandable and actionable.

How We Get Paid

You’ll see a lot of the words judgment-free on our site. We don’t judge you — our readers — in the decisions you make about your money. We know you work hard for everything you have and we aim to help you make the best choices possible about how to use it.

But we do apply judgment in the way we earn our money. As you may notice, we don’t have pop-ups and other display ads around our site, instead choosing to keep our site uncluttered from advertisements that we think you might find irrelevant or annoying. We developed our revenue model in a way that allows us to put the needs of our community first. We turn down the vast majority of people who want to place content on our site and instead very carefully select partners that we believe in and can get behind. Each brand we partner with offers a product or a service that is something we believe may help you. In exchange, we are compensated for placement of sponsored products and services, or by you clicking on certain links posted on our site.

The vast majority of our content is not directly monetized. When you click on most of the links you see on HerMoney, we put them there because we believe they are of value to you — and we are not being compensated for that. And when we do partner with a brand, we require the story be just as helpful, objective and compelling as the rest of the content on our site, and we have strict labeling and disclosure guidelines so that you know which content is sponsored. That applies not only to our website, but also across our social media and newsletter platforms.

We are transparent about how we make money because we want to continue to be able to bring this high-quality content to you. Thank you for being part of our community and for continuing to put your trust in us.
